What We’re Packing for One Year of Travel in Carry On

Since we announced our trip, the number one query has been….

“Carry on? A backpack?! Are you SURE?!”

Yes, we are sure.

The immediate follow up tends to be asking what we are bringing. So, here it is! Our packing lists for one year of travel.

Firstly, some context. On this trip, we are experiencing quite a variety of climates and temperatures. Tropical rainforests, salt deserts, mountainous altitudes, and beachside villas are all in play this trip. The addition of European Christmas markets at the start of this trip has meant a steep drop in temperature is also on the cards.

What this means is we are essentially packing for two different climates - warm and cool. In reality, we’ll often be straddling the line between the two, so many outfits will be a mix of both.
